It turns out that if you’re blessed with a big butt naturally, well, you’re also likely to have been blessed with a bigger brain and a healthier body!
According to a study published in PLoS ONE, big butts activate the reward regions of the male brain otherwise stimulated by substances like alcohol and drugs, causing an unconscious attraction to women with them.
In the study, which analysed data from 16,000 women, Oxford Unversity found that women with larger than average back sides aren’t only more intelligent, but also extremely resistant to chronic illnesses.
University of Oxford basically came to the conclusion that “not all fat is created equal.” Those of us who carry fat in our butts and thighs (pear-shaped) as opposed to our stomachs (apple-shaped) have lower levels of cholesterol and and more likely to produce hormones that metabolize sugar, meaning decreased rates of diabetes and heart disease.
Lead researcher of the study professor Konstantinos Manolopoulous commented:
“The idea that body fat distribution is important to health has been known for some time. However, it is only very recently that thigh fat and a large hip circumference have been shown to promote health; that lower body fat is protective by itself.”
The study also indicated that women with larger bums tend to have lower levels of cholesterol and glucose, as well as higher levels of Omega 3 fats. Dinopectina, a hormone with anti-inflammatory and anti-diabetic benefits also favours those with a big butt, as well as the adipose tissue of your bum apparently preventing cardiovascular disease.
And it also turns out that big butts can also help other parts of a woman’s body look better. In fact, big butts have been proven to make a woman’s waist look slimmer.
It’s also been proven that big butts help improve a woman’s posture as it elongate hip flexors which aligns the spine making you stand up straighter.
