One of the most colorful festivals you will ever see, the World Bodypainting Festival. The World Bodypainting festival was founded in 1998 and has grown to host competitors from more than 50 nations. Austria recentlly held its 21st World Bodypainting Festival in the city of Klagenfurt.
There are special and amateur awards, covering 12 different categories such as airbrushing, special effects and face painting.
In some categories, the artists are given two days to paint their models, with a different theme for each day.
The festival also covers training programmes for bodypainting, make-up, photography, special effects and airbrush.
Models were transformed into stunning works of art, monsters and nightmarish fantasy character for the Bodypainting festival.
They looked stunning and spectacular like the science friction movie characters, if they came alive they would have looked exactly like this.
Men and women become human canvases for the talented Artists in Austrian town of Klagenfurt.
The event sees participants decorated not just in paint, but in elaborate latex makeup, creating appearances that would not be out of place in a science fiction film.
The three-day festival, which is in its 21st year, sees 60 artists from over 50 countries take part, and competitions in 13 separate categories including special effects bodypainting, brush and sponge painting and ultraviolet effects.
