Danny Quirk is an American artist who creates realistic Anatomical paintings. His paintings give us a good idea how our body looks beneath our skin.
Quirk uses liquid latex, acrylic paint, and Sharpies to expose the intricate inner workings of the human body. Muscles, tissue, organs and more are carefully rendered on the subjects’ skin, making it appear as though their flesh has been opened up to reveal the inner wonders that allow us to move, breathe, and live.
He has combined science and painting and took it to a completely new level. Quirk creates realistic paintings directly on the human body to show exactly how you would have looked, if you remove the skin from that part of the body.
“My anatomical works combine classic poses, in dramatic chiaroscuro lighting, with a very contemporary twist… illustrating what’s underneath the skin, and the portrayed figure dissects a region of their body to show the structures that lay beneath,” states the artist on his Behance.
