Flipkart is an e-commerce company founded in 2007 by sachin bansal and binny bansal. The company is registered in Singapore, but has its headquarters in Banglore,karnataka. Flipkart has launched its own product range under the name “DigiFlip” with products including tablets, USBs, and laptop bags.

In May 2014, Flipkart received $210 million from DST Global, in July 2014 it raised $1 billion led by existing investors Tiger Global and South Africa’s media group Naspers and in May 2015 it raised $550 million from some of its existing investors. Flipkart’s last fundraising round in May 2015 had pegged its valuation at $15 billion.




With instant messaging becoming such a huge trend since of late, it was only natural that India would not be far off the bandwagon. Hike is a communication app that offers both SMS and instant messaging in one single app. Developed by Bharti Softbank, a 50-50 partnership between Japan\s Softbank telecom provider and India\s Bharti Telecom, the app is the brainchild of Kavin Bharti Mittal. This cross platform messenger app is pretty similar to WhatsApp, but also allows users to communicate through SMS when they do not have access to data on the go, or mobile internet.



Started in 2010, the company was started by Kunal Bahl, a Wharton graduate and Rohit Bansal, an alumnus of IIT Delhi in February 2010. Snapdeal started off as a daily deal website and has grown to become one of the largest eCommerce websites in India shipping more than 25,000 products daily.

Redbus- India’s largest online bus ticketing company started by BITS Pilani Alumni Phanindra Sama, Sudhakar Pasupunuri and Charan Padmaraju.

Redbus, is India’s biggest online bus ticketing company.The company also sells tickets through offline outlets. It has offices in major cities in India. It was taken over by the Ibibo Group,for around 680 crore INR a joint venture of South Africa’s Naspers and China’s Tencent in June 2013.
BITS Pilani alumni Phanindra Sama, Sudhakar Pasupunuri and Charan Padmaraju started Redbus, to sell bus tickets online.

The company also provides cashless payment, online ordering, white-label apps, table reservation, and point-of-sale systems.
