If you notice something strange in your iPhones 6 or 7 – like it is not working as fast as it used to be, then go out and buy new iPhone 8.
Yes you read it correctly, its not your fault its probably because Apple wants you to buy their new phone. The thing is Apple find it increasingly hard to sell new models with little-to-no new features on them at enormous prices.
So the tech giants Apple are slowing down old iPhones so people go out and buy millions of new ones.
Is it fare? for them yes, but for us its very cruel they are just manipulating people for their profits.
Many customers have long suspected that Apple slows down older iPhones to encourage people to upgrade.
The tech giants have now confirmed these suspicions, some models are deliberately slowed down with age. They made changes to iOS to manage old lithium-ion batteries in some devices.
The company said, according to the BBC:
Lithium-ion batteries become less capable of supplying peak current demands when in cold conditions, when they have a low battery charge or as they age over time, which can result in the device unexpectedly shutting down to protect its electronic components.
Last year, we released a feature for iPhone 6, iPhone 6s and iPhone SE to smooth out the instantaneous peaks only when needed to prevent the device from unexpectedly shutting during these conditions.
We’ve now extended that feature to iPhone 7 with iOS 11.2 and plan to add support for other products in the future.
Our goal is to deliver the best experience for customers.
Chris Green from tech consultancy firm Bright Bee said:
If you’re going to slow down the phone over time, you should explain why it’s happening, so people understand it’s ultimately for their benefit.
But I do see where they’re coming from. By slowing the phone, it does help mitigate the problem of the diminishing battery.
So, that’s it – that’s why i use android, its cheaper and you can change it the way you want.
