‘A ride for a ride’ Dutch driving instructors can be paid with sex!

The Dutch controversial new law wherein ministers in the government have considered it legal for driving instructors in the country to offer lessons in return for sex.

Dubbed as ‘a ride for a ride’ the law states that the instructors can offer lessons in exchange for sex as long as the students are over the age of 18.

Ministers in the Netherlands’ government were forced to defend it after it was branded as undesirable.

The law came under strong opposition from Gert-Jan Segers, of Christian Union party after he questioned in parliament suggesting that the practice should be illegal.

Prostitution in the Netherlands is a legal profession, and prostitutes are treated as self-employed persons. The prostitutes have an ‘escort licence’, under which they are allowed to legally operate. They also pay their taxes. So the question arises that the learner or the instructor should posses a escort license or not?

Netherlands Transport minister Melanie Schultz van Haegen and Justice minister Ard van der Steur said, “It is important that the initiative lies with the driving instructor, and focuses on.” They added, “When a sexual act is offered in lieu of financial payment, that is prostitution.”
